Heading out shortly, for day 2 of train show set up! Show opens to public at 10AM tomorrow morning. Runs 10AM to 5PM Friday through Sunday. $5 admit, under 13 free. Should have at least 2 good days, weather wise. Snow forecast for Sunday sometime.
Actually, yesterday was spent more on unloading tables and getting them sorted out and set up. A couple folks also took the opportunity to get sales display(s) set up, ahead of the major rush this evening and/or tomorrow morning. I set up my track loops yesterday and had them running by the end of the day. Brought remaining equipment down this morning. With a quick trip back home, because the computer I brought with, did NOT have any music On it!! Period!! Had to swap for the other, that had music library on it! Gonna head down by 8AM and get some last minute work done. Wipe down track, get any smoke fluid drips, dust etc..of the rails, so things run a little better!! Also a quick cleaning of locomotive wheels! If I remember my camera tomorrow also, I'll see if I can post a couple of photos of the show. And more of my aims over the entire weekend, with the kids, having fun!!
Have a WiFi hotspot, so I'm reporting Live!! Just over 4 hours to go for today. Have had a fair crowd so far. Not as many people, at least today. I'm thinking that it MIGHT pick up around 2:30-3:00, after school gets out and folks start heading home from work. Betting that tomorrow may be the busiest day. Snow expected overnight Saturday, and depending on how it comes in, we could get: 1" - 3" 2" - 4" 4" - 8" Or just over 10" Not even the news has any firm idea, yet! So, Sunday could be dead, with weather and a football game in the afternoon. But, since I have nothing to do, I'm gonna enjoy it while I can!
If you want a good laugh, compare them with the National Weather Service official reports on actual weather the prior few days. Just like Wednesday evening here. Media was reporting dense fog. Well, there was, at the airport where their data gathering station is located. I drove through there, and the only place in the entire county with fog was that airport. So, for everyone else but folks wanting to fly, the forecast was useless.
Weather not as bad as expected on Sunday!! Had a decent turnout of folks for the day! Adding a few photos, from my vantage point, of the show. But it gives an idea to the show size. Never got out and around to grab photos. Same thing, different day, for me! Depending on weather, I may look at going to the Estes Park show in Feb.
Yes, it is. It runs on NCE DCC and it runs VERY slowly!! They run a second locomotive similar to this one on the other level. I'll see if I can grab some more shots of this little layout in Feb, for the Rails in the Rockies train show.
