OK, In about a month, maybe, I'll have the ultimate book review to work on!
Found, and just purchased this morning, a copy of the following:

The Moffat Tunnel of Colorado: An Epic of Empire

A brief description from the Rio Grande Modeling and Historical Society website:

McMechan, Edgar Carlisle, "The Moffat Tunnel Of Colorado, An Epic Of Empire (2 Volumes)," Wahlgren Publishing Company, Denver, Colorado, 1927, Even though this book appeared before the tunnel was opened, it contains a wealth of material on the events leading up to the beginning of construction, biographical sketches of men who were prominent in the struggle to get the tunnel, history of the Moffat Road up to the beginning of tunnel construction, wonderful pictures, and a lot of good economic and business information on the Moffat's service area.

    Signed, set #11.

    Shipping estimate:08/21 - 08/24
    Delivery estimate: 08/27 - 09/14

Gotta thank my folks for placing the order for me! Since I do NOT have credit card!

Will try and give more details once volumes have arrived and I've had a chance to look them over!

Remember seeing a copy at a used book place in Denver years ago.
At that time, they wanted $350/set.
Recent CRRM mail auction had a set up for grabs! So, I sent in my $350 bid. And lost!!
So, I guess for set #11, signed, the $499 I ended up paying isn't too bad!
Although, certain to be a highlight of my library collection!
Hope it goes out soon. One of the Midland books I also ordered has already shipped!
Figure maybe by Monday it'll be here!

Volumes arrived in mail today! Gonna make for some very interesting reading for a while!
May consider a multi part review, as I read the various chapters in each volume.
After seeing it in person, I think the $499 I ended up spending was money well spent!
Granted, some folks may think I'm crazy for doing so........But, I have a copy!!

Camera cut off top/bottom edges. Shows were from the ages. Partially torn at top of spines. Edge wear, as can be expected. But, for their age, inside is virtually mint condition!
