I just got a used IHC 2-8-0 off the bay , I do not need it . but It followed me home. The IHC 2-8-0 uses the same or a copy of the old TYCO 2-8-0 ( Chattanooga choo choo ) shell ,but with a can motor / flywheel running the drivers . It actually runs good. Also drivers are about 58 inches TYCOs are about 51

So far I have changed the cab, air pumps and added brake rigging behind the last driver set. I think I will use a Short Bachmann tender behind it ( from a 2-10-0 ) with a Narrow coal bunker extension.

Will post some photos in a day or too

You can see how small the original cab was.

Put it together to night. Used the non pick up Bachmann tender from the train set 2-6-2 . Added spectrum tracks and wired it for power. This tender is a little shorter than the spectrum 2-8-0 tender.
