Since I don't have a horse in this race I will behave before somebody appoints a special counsel to investigate model railroad fraud and this goes down in history as the great model railroad caper.
Ah yes... to quote an infamous early 20th century Chicago Mayor, William Hale Thompson... 'Vote early... and often'. Mayor Thompson was apparently a stooge for gangster Alfonse Capone who often repeated the line. Well... I'm off to vote... again and again... and so forth.
How long would it take Kato to turn around a new train from decision to store shelves? If its all new, I would think year end 2019. Could they deliver anything new by the 2018 Holidays? Maybe a Twin City Zephyr?
Still have 13 days before the Kato poll ends... but... as far as I can tell... the final results will be NYC 20th Century Ltd with a 3 to 1 lead over either the North Coast Ltd or the Twin Cities Zephyr. About 7100 votes cast as of today... 43% for 20th Century Ltd, 13% for NCL and 12% for TCZ.
I really believe that if they had chosen to include only one of the Hill lines trains (NCL, TCZ or EB), that there would be a virtual tie for first. They split the vote by including only one major Eastern train but three name trains that traveled West from Chicago. That said, I certainly won't be disappointed if they do a very nice TCL release (especially if they finally tool an E7). I'm just not all that excited about a Lark or Rocket.
I totally agree that the poll split the interest for Hill Lines roads. Had Kato only put one one of them then the poll would likely have been closer... but I think TCL would still have a double digit percentage advantage. I doubt anyone who voted for TCL would have changed their vote. Sent from my SM-J737T using Tapatalk
