Howdy folks! I install sugar cube speaker (sbs4dcc.com) in my KATO N GEVO's, SD40-2 and similar under the fuel tank cover. Do you milling the frames of speaker size. And then, I use UHU Glue Pads (https://www.walmart.com/ip/UHU-Tac-...and-Small-Objects-80-Tac-Pads-99683/720849250) for bonding in the hole. For insolation at the bottom of the speaker used Kapton Tape.
DW, Awesome layout you have, thanks for sharing. The install looks interesting. Do you have anymore install photos to post? Is the white material around the speakers "Play-Doh" or modelers clay for sealing the back from the front waves? Any more info would be appreciated and again thanks for sharing, Carl
Hi Carl Thanks for your comment. This white material is this: https://www.walmart.com/ip/UHU-Tac-...and-Small-Objects-80-Tac-Pads-99683/720849250 I fill the hole in the frame and press carefully the wired speaker at the bottom side. The white adhesive pads must be pressed very cleanly around the speaker. There must be no air holes. The fuel tank cover is the capsule for the sound. Drill not holes in the cover! I'm about to build a KATO SD90 / 43MAC, because I'll do some more pictures for you. Regards Thomas
Did you put any kind of capacitor in if to act as a keep-alive? Finding room for those has been a real headache for me. Tom
