With the help of Doofus, I have found a little info on this one. BFTX is Bill Frank Trucking. I am searching for more details.
Here is a car of similar number. According to what I find, they, Bill Frank Trucking, (BTFX), only own one car. Numbered 10115. What you have pictured, shows 10105. So?????? Bill Frank Trucking It's described as being a "bulkhead flat." This being true, what is the outer covering for??? Protection of what? Boxcab E50
I believe their description is wrong. The two cars are very similar in appearence., except that 10115 looks to be more beat up. I have another source that shows they own more than 100 cars. It is at work, so I can't give you the reference until tomorrow.
If we're seeing the same side of each car, they are definitely different. It doesn't make much sense to have a one car fleet, and two obviously different reporting numbers. However, knowing the modern math being foisted upon us, 1+1 could equal one. Boxcab E50
This is a source of very good information which seems to be quite current. http://www.railinc.com/ If you follow the trail Umler - Equipment Information Umler Equipment Statistics finally Umler Monthly Statistics of Private Equipment you will end up in a PDF document which lists Regus Industriies LLC as having 207 picece of rolling stock.
Boxcab - You could be correct on that Bill Frank Trucking piece. However, it does not seem logical that, knowing the business they are in, that 10115 is a bulkhead flat car, unless they converted it in a rather crude way by adding sides.
Both cars are bulkhead flatcars converted to high side gondolas for scrap service. This is becoming common with the flats becoming available for lease after being replaced by centerbeams. The cost is about 1/6 that of a new car so the conversion was done. This is very popular with people in the construction trade in moving their wastes from job sites. Joe
Very interesting. This makes a lot of sense since it should not take much to weld on a few braces and some sheet metal. Thanks, Joe, for the added info.
