Another one bites the dust.....

Saw NS 4147 cut up into many pieces today in 2 gondolas. Another GP38 into the melting pot. Wish i could of gotten pics.

 

Pics? I think I would have tried to get the high, short hood and cab

Yep, I'd go for the high short hood, complete with the nose mounted bell and the nifty all weather windows:

They cut the bell off. The end of the short hood still had the thorobred on it!

 

I went by Laurinburg last week, they were cutting up cars in front of the shops There was also a loco missing part of a hood... I hope it wasn't being cut up too

BTW, what was under that tall hood besides the toilet? I never did see any on the Katy back when they were around.

 

A bunch of piping, wires the numberboard lights, a chinsy sink! Use it to store stuff in also.
