Just currious, guys... Anyone out there who is willing to do some custom painting for me? I have a few structures that I'd like to have repainted, as well as a locomotive. (There may be another locomotive and possibly a passenger train to be re-painted sometime in the next year, but for now it's just the three structures, engine and caboose.) As I mentioned in my last posting about the RF&L, I failed to meet my deadline on July 29, 2011. While many would be disheartened by this, I see it as extra time to do a much better job than what I would have been able to do with my original construction timeline. As such, I have three of my downtown businesses that were hurridly brush-painted and are in less than stellar quality that I'd like to have re-done to look more presentable. I also have the Stewart S-12 that is still in its black Rock Island paint scheme that I'd like to have repainted in a Milwaukee Road orange and black "bandit" scheme. (There may also be a second Baldwin to be acquired down the road, as well as a small five-car passenger train... but those purchases are going to be down the line a ways...) I will pay for shipping and will provide the paint, but is anyone out there willing to donate their time and tallents to helping the cause? Just currious. Anybody who is interested, please PM me. Thanks, guys!
What paint schme are you doing? Are you sure it's not soermthign you can do? My how-two on custom painting locomotives, works for cars too.
If this was going to remain my own personal layout, I'd be up to painting the stuff myself. However, given that this is going to be an auction item given to someone else, I'd rather have an experienced painter do the work for me. That being said, I like your how-to, Flashwave, and will have to give it a shot when I build the next layout for myself.
I am a pretty decent painter of buildings, but rolling stock still gives me a tiny bit of trouble. I am willing to paint the buildings for you and after Wednesday evening I will have 3 weeks with nothing to do but model! Here are a few examples of my work and the last building is in Z scale!! (The first two are N scale DPM kits) http://i1181.photobucket.com/albums/x424/WyCoWestern/Layout Pics/DSCN3517.jpg http://i1181.photobucket.com/albums/x424/WyCoWestern/Layout Pics/DSCN3518.jpg http://i1181.photobucket.com/albums/x424/WyCoWestern/Shapeways Projects/DSCN3412.jpg And weathered: (The guy I painted it for wanted it REALLY dirty, and I added the signs later so I still need to dirty them up too) http://i1181.photobucket.com/albums/x424/WyCoWestern/Shapeways Projects/DSCN3462.jpg (Also, the Z scale building in the last two pictures is also available in N scale in my Shapeways shop)
