When I use my Linux running laptop and I try to upload photos into RailImages, I go to Upload Photos and then on that next screen when I hit the "Select Files for Upload" button none of my photos show up. They are JPEGs with the .JPG after their names. They are viewable on the computer and when I transfer them to a Windows 7 computer sitting a few feet away they upload from there just fine (same files). I am wondering if there is some vBulletin patch or fix needed for me to be able to use the uploader.

    My particulars:
.JPG files, not too huge for our system
Xubuntu 12.04 LTS version of Linux
Laptop is an HP Compaq nc6320 with a Core Duo processor
Firefox web browser with no funny stuff and all the latest patches, etc. I have Flash installed, just in case it is needed

Like I said, the same exact photos upload with no problem from a Windows 7 machine, but I want to be able to upload from my laptop so that when I go to shows or whatever I can upload photos a little more real-time.

I am able to post links within messages, so that's not a problem, I just can't see the files in the uploader window.

Thanks in advance for your help,
    Adam

My first guess is extention on the files. Since Linux is case sensitive it might be a small problem. If the files is PIC1.JPG rename it to PIC1.jpg to do a test.

    Leif,

You got it! Thank you. I should have known from punching stuff into the terminal emulator that Linux is case sensitive. The camera defaults to .JPG but Linux Firefox RailImages, for the purposes of this uploader, won't find them unless they're .jpg apparently. I changed one to .jpg and it popped right up.

    Thank you! Problem solved.
