Hi all, just found this site. Grew up in Hammondsport, NY and we had a short line there, the Bath & Hammondsport which owned only 2 engines. They were both second hand ALCO S1's, numbers 4 and 5. Amazingly, Atlas actually sold both these models in HO a few years back and i was able to get a hold of both of them! I am just wondering if anyone has attempted to model this short line or it's new owner and operator, the Livonia, Avon & Lakeville? Just trying to get in touch with anyone else out there who is interested or has modeled these railroads from my youth growing up.
I'm doing a bit of LA&L on my N scale layout. I know Atlas or Lifelike did Alco 420's or 424's in LA&L markings a while back. I wasn't able to find those so I repainted a 420 and 424 and used some decals available from this company - http://www.dansresincasting.com/Decals.htm. They have LA&L in both HO and N. I think one of the guys in the RR group I hang out with mentioned that Atlas is coming out with another HO scale LA&L marked locomotive. Dave
