I recently purchased the Atlas track cleaning car, and although I have not used any other ones, I can honestly say that the car is well worth the price. Wet and dry cleaning all in one. You can't beat it...imo......Mike

i have both the Atlas and an older Aztec I was supprised at hoe well the vacuum on the Atlas worked. If you have track you can't reach, i think it is a good investment. if your track is easy to get to, I would stay with a Bright boy' and some track cleaning solvent
I haven't used the solvent in the Atlas yet, so I can't say how good that works

I use Tony's CMX+ track cleaning car. I'm very happy with the results. It's been on the JJJ&E for four years now.

My Atlas came tonight. A few weeks later than I had hoped, but is here, all the same.

I will report its effect on the LLL over the weekend.

I ran it for the first time last weekend, only with the dry polishing cloth. A few passes through my long truss bridges certainly helped, promising to eliminate my "eraser on a stick" method. I'm going to explore it more this coming weekend.

Anyone have the English instructions? Or a link to a site? Mine is actually a Tomix, and I don't read Japanese.

    Hiya.

I've got the same problem as Pete: a Tomix unit and no English instructions. Help, anyone? Regards,

Thanks for the instructions, Mark! They really helped me understand the possibilities of this machine.

AND the comfort of reading text written in your native language.
By the way- How come you and Jim seem to be the only ones with the Japanese instructions problem?

    Pete-

NOW, I would start feeling a bit paranoid if I were you.

Nah, I picked mine up WAY before Atlas introduced them. I remember using it on Layout 6, which came down in mid-2002. That was C80, so the stray ballast that clogged the vacuum feature never affected the trains. While building Layout 7 (the present one), a large shop vac was the tool of choice.

My early Tomix has one wheelset way out of gauge. Perhaps I'll fix it sometime. Really, thanks for the English instructions!

Perhaps I'll pull it behind the Kato PAs. That will help me "perfect" my track.
