As a little aside, I once got a transistor radio for Christmas, when I was a kid, and the leather case smelled like vinegar. I guess it must have been with whatever they "tanned" the leather.

    :D

At $46.50 it had better be an O-Scale wine car filled with a nice Cabernet Sauvignon.

I miss the Nalley Valley pickle plant that used to be here in Tacoma. The Nalley Valley Viaduct and the entire area would smell like pickles for days after they opened the vats.

Thats an interesting photo. It says the capacity is 10,000 gallons which means it should be SMALLER than the Atlas 11,000 tank. Anyone care to make the comparison ?

I would have to spend a bunch of time trying to find mine...

I found my four E-R Models/Roco Vinegar Cars:

    040-70360 Heinz 57
    040-70361 Richter Vinegar Corp.
    040-70362 Standard Brands
    040-70363 Fleischmann Transportation Co.

The Heinz 57 is not the same as either of the Heinz cars pictured earlier in this thread. It has a smaller '57' blue flat car and road number 200.

More later. Not sure how much later "later" will be.

Man, who'd have thought there'd be so many paint variations of this body style? :)

When I was 16 I worked for Pulaski, WI pickle factory and that stuff stinks.
The only good thing to come from that was my first car. '55 Ford that I replaced the 272 with a 332 police interceptor.

I wonder if anyone ever dropped a bag of Sodium Bicarbonate into a vat at a vinegar plant just to see what would happen?

If the catalog number of the brown base Heinz #203 Atlas car is not 3012, I was wrong and that was from the later release. I was sure I saw that version before then but...memory... pfffft!

I think that the brown base car is from the Atlas re-run, but I'm not 100 percent certain of that and other than a recently found Hinckley and Schmidt "reprint" I don't own them (post-A1G, you know). Trovestar has only the original four also, not the rerun. Don't kick yourself yet... the catalog number 3012 might have been re-used. More research required. I'm sure the re-run was advertised when released, the question is, "When was that?"

Here are a couple of pictures I stole off eBay which pretty much confirm the brown base Heinz car is from the later release:

There was a #3052, road number 204, too.

I see the listing... almost a nominee for another popular thread on this board. $27.99? And the other three available are higher priced than that.
