Although the SBR&HS is allowed to keep # 3751 in the Redondo Jct roundhouse, why does BNSF treat it like a stepchild
Sunday Niagara--what an interesting web name. Welcome to TrainBoard. Does the "Niagara" part imply an affiliation with the New York Central? The questions about 3751 go on and on, and I certainly cannot answer them. The locomotive itself is superbly restored, one of the best. Early on the folks at the San Bernardino Railroad Historical Society had problems convincing (then) Santa Fe that they should take an interest in the locomotive. There have been many changes in the structure of the SBRHS, and things are good with the BNSF. I thought the Redondo roundhouse was demolished and the engine moved to another location where she is stored outside. One of the top priorities for SBRHS now is to get a shelter built for the locomotive. I know this doesn't answer your questions. I am a member of SBRHS, but a remote one, living some 1000 miles away from the action, so I do not wish to make any guesses about what is going on. If you have seen the locomotive up close, as in the cab, you will agree that she is a superb restoration and needs more public exposure.
