Looking for links to on-line pictures of any wood depots and or other buildings ATSF had between Ft. Sumner, NM & Mountaniair, NM Also looking for those on the Estancia branch and the short branch that went west from Moriarty. Also the line that went south from Willard to the SP connection @ Torrance Also looking for pictures of the Harvey House that was located in Vaughn, NM
I do not have links to on-line photos. However I keep an extensive file of published photos, plans and information. I searched for locations on the lines you mentioned. The only photos of wooden depots found were are Estancia and Yeso. I give my entire list for the sake of folks who may be interested in other depots in the area. Sorry, I check what I have and so far only find those from CO, not NM. If they are close to what you need I can get more photos of these...
I've located one shot of Yeso which will work for two sides of that as well as for Moriarty after it was moved there. But w/o the other sides we seem to be o-o-l. Strange that historically it seems nobody in NM took photos.
My wife did some research on your question and passes on the following that might be helpful http://www.rrshs.org/N.M./nmrrstruc.htm http://swcenter.fortlewis.edu/images/P001/P00130152Page.htm
The above has helped some but I'm still looking for: Lucy, Willard, Joffre, Cardenas, Largo, Evanola, Agudo, Tejon, Camero, Encino, Negra, Dummoor, Culebra, Silio, and, Broncho.
As I mentioned in an earlier posts, there are photos that show Lucy and Willard as "blind sidings", ie named places on the railroad but with no depot building or operator, at least not at the time photos were taken. I wonder how many of these place names are "named places" for which there never existed a depot building... The places are probably not big enough to have documented in Sanborn's insurance maps.
It's well documented that Lucy's depot was moved to Calvert. I'm fairly certain that I saw a building at Willard way back when I had no money for film and thought buildings would always be there.
Neither Willard nor Lucy had a blind siding. Willard had a depot identical to that at Ft Sumner. One photo is printed in Pounds' "Santa Fe Depots". the depot was retired in 1965. Removed somtime later. Lucy's depot is documented as having been moved to Calvert (Estancia) in 1951 after being retired at Lucy in 1938. The need to track down additional photos is to help determine building and track placement and assist in properly modeling as accurately as possible.
