The latest and greatest "new" way is to use caulk to attach track to cork. You can do a search and see the different posts on it. The key is not use too much. Here is C 83 to sheet and Midwest cork

Some users feel that cork is a little too noisy for their liking, and they resort to Homasote strips, Homabed, foam, fanfold, topper tape, and even vinyl underlay in order to keep things quiet. Track nails driven into wood will help to transmit noise. So, in order to take advantage of the inherent sound attenuation found in dual-density layering, cork and ties with a very thin layer of cheap acrylic latex caulk between them helps a lot. The adhesive caulks will be that much harder, and therefore harder to pry up lengths of track later to realign joins, tangents, curves, and such. The acrylic latex caulks, thinly spread, still do a good job, and when you ballast, nothing moves anyway.
