Normally, this a post from Kurt, but he seems to be on every board this days. The new release for August are: MRL ribside, NS ribside, ATSF PS-2, and SOO GP35. Loren just post it on Yahoo. August is one of the best months I can remember. Not one item I can say its not for me.
Yoshi, the PS-2 sold out so fast that MTL made a second run for the people who missed it the first time.
Soo Line GP35? That's not what I expected. As I've noted before, by railroad size, SP and Conrail should have come next. Based on MT's past practice, I expected WP to be coming soon.
I have heard the August PS2's for ATSF are the EXACT same road numbers at NTS. I happened to buy a pair for my Northeastern layout from Anthony @ ZScaleMonster who seems to have a lot available. I see a glut of them on Ebay so I hope MTL doesn't get burned on this one as well. So far as a SOO GP35, it is tempting since I used to love the SOO line and had a SOO GP-something in HO when I was 8 (some 30 years ago...) but being a Northeastern Modeller, would SOO ever have made it to Pennsylvania or NY??? I would definitely want a NY Central and another PRR but... By the way, I could NOT find anything from Loren on August releases on Yahoo either--perhaps it was deleted off the board (I don't get mail-I read it all online...) Michael
As Rob Kluz is so fond of saying, "Good things come to those who wait." Only this time it might have been someone with closer ties to MTL. Keep those first two road names on your mind, and they may just appear before you know it. And if you're a serious Conrail fan, you might want to budget a little more than normal for the next 6-12 months. But I could be wrong......
I was about to type that I have both the Marklin & MTL Soo Line Gondolas. So can anyone answer my question as to whether a SOO GP35 would ever have made it to the Northeast or just stuck in Minnesota area? I know SOO was aligned with CP or CN (forget which)... Thanks!!! Michael P.S. I'll post this in the SOO section as well!
Michael, I haven't seen SOO GP35's, but have seen other SOO locos SD40-2's I think, in Binghampton, NY. Randy
CP is the parent company of the SOO LINE. So I'm sure they made it back east. Ya' see 'em every once in awhile out here too, so just use some modeling licensing and use it on a run-thru! :teeth:
Hey, funny thing about the SOO LINE's GP35's? They don't have dynamic brakes!! All the pic's I've seen so far don't have 'em! Does this mean a re-tooled shell?!?! mg:
Welcome Loren. Nice to have you here. I've been trying to tell everyone to just be a LITTLE patient......... It looks like we've been talking to the same little birdie.
