I don't believe the ACF ran E8 B units. I do believe the had E7 Bs, but these are quite different from the E8s. Only a few roads ran E8Bs. They included UP, SP and Milwaukee Road.

Sorry Rob, the SP had one E8A and a dozen or so E9As. They had no E8/9B units, they ran E7Bs or PAs.

Mark you are right. I was thinking about the SP E7 sets we offered in brass that included a B.

    Pesky prototypical facts. ;)

I'm just used to seeing the Marklin F7 A-B units pulling their set of cars, so I wanted the E's to look the same. Can't have everything we want, now can we? :)

Bryan update! The guys on the AZL Forum have been doing research. The ACL did indeed have 2 E8Bs. The only photos we have found show them in the black and yellow livery. AZL is looking into if they every were painted in the silver and purple scheme. Here is an image of one:

    According to this...

    http://www.jacksonvilleterminal.com/atlantic_coast_line.htm

ACL's E8B's were bought from RF&P... and were painted into the purple scheme.
    Hope this helps! JMS
