I have a Bachmann Shay and it has a terrible headlight, with the LED mounted deep inside the boiler and the light transmitted to the Headlight through a multiple jointed piece of square plastic. I also have a Bachmann Climax with a great headlight with the LED mounted in the headlight box, as it should be. Has anyone attempted to convert the poorly designed lights in the Shay to the better design? I'm not sure how to get inside the Shay boiler to attach the new wires.
