    Thanks for responding. Trains that I will be running are as follows:

    From the mobile staging yard located in the hallway I will have an Amtrak train (I have superliners, single level, and an acela), a passenger train I call the foamer express (this will either be a big boy or challenger- yes I have both- followed by several cars considered private cars, and coal trains. Would lilke some intermodal stuff but don't have it yet.

    from the smaller yards will be more locals such as a mine train, logging train from the logging area, mixed manifest trains with grain and oil and other commodities in it.

    Outstanding timing. I've been planning the bench work for the last 20 feet of the Grey and Grandure. I knew I needed to change my style but could not figure out what it was.
    * "2x2s for legs."
    Ya know - that is just the suggestion I needed.

    Thanks! Guys!

    Design looks great. 1x3 is good and listen to Watson. Luan cover for the bendwork.

    Pay heed to Beasley- 3' is indeed a stretch. I am paying the price right now for that mistake.

    Plans are for a thin sheet of plywood to be placed under the foam board and the actual size of the room is 17'9" x 10'1" so in the upper corners there will be access to the back area. I hope to start building the benchwork here in the next two weeks. I have half the lumber and supplies already and should have the rest soon.

    Next question, but never too early to ask-

    Have you charted out where each turnout and the turntable are going to be relative to the wood supports throughout the layout under the luan sheet and the foamboard? Although uniform spacing is optimally best, you may run into a problem in installation of turnout mechanisms and turntable motors and such if they are directly atop the supports.

    This is one area that I did not think about. I will double check where benchwork and track meet. Thanks for the heads up.
