21. Januar 2003 - Norway Post The Bergen to Oslo railway re-opened The Bergen to Oslo railway was reopened late Tuesday evening, after it was blocked by an avalanche between Myrvoll and Hallingskeid on Monday. The avalanche tore down 500 metres of the overhead electricity supply, and the work replacing the line has been difficult, says Information Director Oeystein Grue of Norway Rails. He said there was danger of further avalanches, and that a change of crews on Tuesday morning was necessary in order to complete the job. The line was re-opened in time for the night trains to run on schedule both ways, NRK reports. No trains were involved in Monday's avalanche, as both night trains had already passed the spot.
Alan, I'm so excited that in just a couple of weeks, my wife and I will be in Amsterdam! I am ready to ride some those beautiful trains and trams!
Lucky you! I hope you both have a wonderful time ...... but of course you will, you will be riding trains
A few years ago my wife and I took that ride, going from Oslo to Bergen. That has to be one of the most spectacular scenic rides in the world.
