I am going to bring my old 35mm out of mothballs. Can anyone tell me which brand of print film gives the best red colors reproduction? Thanks :)

Bill, I know the "aficianados" won't agree, but I like Kodacolor 400 for red. Everyone says it's "grainy" but I don't see it. K 200 does well too. I have little experience with Fuji, but from what I shot I understand why their film packages are green. So are the prints. :surprise:

Ektachrome tends towards the blue end of the spectrum.

Thanks friends. I'll give the Kodacolor a try. I think that's what I used to use before I got the digital. I was just wondering if anything new had come out in the past few years. :)

I have used Fuji print film for years, and I find that it does very good with reds. I have alot of pics with nice bright bloody noses!

I always used slide film in my SLR. But in my wife's camera, we used a lot of Kodak's 200 print film. Results seemed plenty good for us.

We still shoot some film in the older Nikons. I prefer slide film, as I can scan it and get better results than with print film.

You know, one of my old film Nikons might be just the thing if I decide to rent a dry suit and go whitewatering in Alaska. Stick a cheap 28-200 on an N70, and go at it.
