I have a project brewing for a customer, a custom pair of A-B PA-1's in the BN commuter E9's scheme: The problem is that my decal set does not include the hockey-stick stripe.... I have microscale 60-4085. What decal set will havce the correct stripes? Or do I have the wrong set?
Hemi, my guess is you are going to have to mask that strip. I've never seen a decal set with them in it.
You will need to mask it. I would cut out one in clear styrene (use the DPM window stryrene). Get it the perfect shape and then use that as a master so all of your stripes are the same. It can be simply flipped over for the other side. That is how I do my SOO LINE masks.
Since BN had no commuter E8/9 B-units, the PA-1 B stripe will be straight. A master stripe template would be a great idea!!! Thanks, Tony, and great to see you. How are you doing over there?
Well, they're Walthers... decal set 219-80 (x2) - but I got them if you're interested [ 07. January 2005, 03:19: Message edited by: nscale_lover ]
Doing fine, I am actually home for R&R and head back the 12th. Been a good visit. Got to see the family, finished some projects and got to go to an operating session.
You could also check to see if the white trim film (Micro Scale) sheet would allow you to cut the stripes.
I would just use Microscale Trim Film (white decal paper) and cut it out. Thats what I use anytime I need any white patches for re-numbers, etc. Also works good for the "Excess Height" stripe on HI Cube Boxcars. Brian
