I brought the camera to work for the first time in years this past Saturday, March 27, 2004. The following pics were shot enroute from Galesburg, IL to Willowsprings IL on train M GALCSX1-27A. Chilli sub, former ATSF transcon.

Student Engineer D.A. Graves ran the train, which enabled me to shoot from the conductor's window.

Looks like there are no guard rails between the tracks on the bridges? Very nice pictures. How did the student do? Were you scared? [IMG]

And, anyway, what does that "95" mean in the first picture?

The student did fine. The "95" is actually a "35" on the speedometer. Glad you like the pics, there will be more train meet pics in part II...The wife must fall a sleep before I can post part II. I guess I'm spending too much time on-line.

Move just a wee bit closer to the monitor, the guard rails are there! [IMG]

I do see the guard rails. I must say that they are further to the center than I expected.
