    Here at http://www.bnsf.com/cws/eqptrace/eqptrace.html

I used it a couple times before but that was when it was new and not quite 100%...

It's actually kinda fun to use! BNSF 9647 is in Cicero if anyone there wants to see it! I have yet to see this unit. I'm gonna keep tabs on it.

Hey Tunnel88, I have seen this unit in Galesburg In fact it was just through here a couple of weeks ago on a coal drag headed toward Chicago. In fact I have about a dozen pictures of this particular locomotive.I got those in the West Quincy,Missouri yard when I visited my family in Quincy,IL. Extra added info a conductor told me a few months back that it burned itself up. That why some of the painted was off it.

The BNSF trace doesn't keep track of locomotives very well. BNSF's trace is mainly for cars, while UP's traces locos also.

I hear and know what you're saying but it does usually give a general idea where it's at...

I have never had the BNSF trace tell me the correct location of a loco. Just to prove it, i traced a loco that i saw go by just mins ago (SE Nebraska) and it said it was in WA! Their loco trace only works of the loco has gone off the bnsf system. I also just traced BNSF 9647...says its in Ceiro????? It just went by here! Im in Nebraska! thats not even close.

    I wish BNSF's trace was like UP's.

Alan, it is great for us in the states. I usually track the United Way SD40-2 #3300 and a UP SD70M I saw (#4171) because I have yet to see 3300 but want to see 4171 again.

Oh well, its called the waiting game.....

Wow, I had no idea such a thing existed. I just played with it. The BNSF one isn't any good for engines, but the UP one is great, it even tells you the last time any given BNSF (or other railroad's) unit was on UP property.

The link for the UP tracker is http://my.uprr.com/pub/pet/ in case anyone needs it.
