All my screen savers are totally and completely *FREE* [IMG], yes, absolutely *FREE* [IMG], you just download, install and *enjoy* [IMG]. No nag screens, no shareware screens, and best of all ***NO [IMG] COST*** just pictures of trains.

If there is any cost it is just the price you pay for your internet time while on-line, that I have no control over.

Alan,
What speed is your computer and what processor does it use?

The reason I ask is I code these screen savers on a PII MMX Processor, 64MB and 400Mhz (I think it is 400). So on slower systems the fades may be a lot slower.

However I can speed them up in the program, but on faster systems some folks wouldn't get to see the photo for very long. This is the main reason I use a speed that I would hope would be good for everyone running one of my screen savers.

That and since I use a random display, this also slows the speed down a little (about 3%).

If I get a lot more folks complaining the effects are too slow for the transitions I'll speed them up in newer and/or updated versions.

Thanks for the feedback on that. I wouldn't know this otherwise.

You're welcome. The newest release and further releases should be somewhat faster. At least I hope they are. I have reset the timing and effects so the transitions should now operate much quicker, and, to me, they even looked smoother in the latest release (CSX MoW Version 3), versions 1 and 2 were released last year, but they aren't that good. These were my first attempts at a Train Themed Screen Saver and the software used was not as good as the latest version I now use. If you think these are slow you should have seen them, could've taken a nap between frames. Hee hee.

But if you download the newest screen saver, I hope you will see a remarkable improvement. If it's still too slow, by all means please let me know. I may have to drop the timing down a little more for newer systems (you'd think this would go the other way wouldn't you?).

But I'll always try to improve them and with the feedback I get from you folks that use them helps me to develop better and more complex screen savers in the future.

Regards,
Clay/TrainTech
