I was bored today, cruising my fav. websites,a nd come accross the BNSF store. Neat stuff they have, and reasonable, too. What I thought was interesting, is in theBNSF collectibles section, there lies a beatifully painted BNSF H2 Dash 9-44CW. On closer inspection and enlarging of the image by clicking on it, a few things catch my eye:
    1. The model is numbered 5601. the 5600-series is en elusive bird to see across the system! There are only 3! That is not a C44-9W, but rather an AC4400CW!! Very rare indeed!
    2. The model they chose looks like a Kato, but I dunno the scale. It is mounted on cheapo track,a nd bare cork on top of a nice wood base. The price is $200!!
    3. This one eludes me. The model is trying to depict an AC4400CW, and has incorrect trucks! In fact, the trucks on the model are from a Dash-8 series GE loco!!!
    Wow. Check it out!

By the look of it, thats an Athearn DASH9, though it's possible that it could be an AC44CW. It's pretty much impossible to tell from the right side. The trucks are reasonably correct, but they just look weird from that angle.

I agree, that's an Athearn loco...the windscreen area is much nicer on the Kato dash 9....hold up a mo, $200 for an Athearn loco!!!

Maybe I should go into business selling "collectibles"...sounds kinda lucrative!!

That is indeed an Athearn AC4400CW. It is unpowered, and is correct, minus the fact that it does not have the correct BNSF cab windows.

It replaces the Heritage 1 Dash 9 that was offered before.

    UP's website offers a Proto 1000 F3A, for only $40.00, powered!

May be best just to get an AC4400W by either Athearn or Kato and paint/decal it yourself (or have it done).

Whoever did the custom paint job must really like his work to ask for so much (and it isn't bad, BTW).
