This was an Athearn SD70I undecorated in H0 scale. Painted with Scalecoat coulours and lettered with Microscale. Also equipped with a Digitrax DH142 decoder and blinking ditchlights [This message has been edited by rail_fan (edited 25 March 2000).] [This message has been edited by rail_fan (edited 25 March 2000).]
That looks like a very fine job you have done with this Athern. In order for the judges to better assess your talent, we will need to know what scale this locomotive is? I'm making tha assumption that it is HO, is that correct? We appreciate your participation in this contest by entering this fine model. Thanks, Bill
Looks real sweet rail_fan, I'd love to see those ditchlights working. ps: excellent choice of roads! ------------------ The NP & UP N-Scale Railroad
Our contest ends April 30. We will announce our "winner" within a few days following. A reminder that the contest is not as much about winning or losing as it is just to see these wonderful works that all of you have created. Our Moderators will be the judges and will attempt to judge based on the photos but not on the actual quality or size of the individual photo. Charlie ------------------ Ship It On The FRISCO!
Very nice Railfan. You came pretty close, considering the SD70MAC is closer in appearance to an SD60M than an SD70M/I. Notice the louver on the left side is different (funny angle on the prototype, like the 60s do). For those with the questions, the Athearns I believe have working Ditchlights (Genesis Series), and Athearn only produces HO scale equipment. A prototype photo to see how close he is (courtesy of Keith, a BNSF dispatcher). ------------------ Corey Lynch VP - Rensselaer Model RR Society NEB&W RR http://www.rpi.edu/~lynchc/Railfanning/railfanning.htm - My Site http://www.union.rpi.edu/railroad - NEB&W [This message has been edited by Harron (edited 30 April 2000).]
