Just picked up a copy of Dave Sweetlands\Robert Liljestands new book "Freight Equipment of the New York Central". Its about the size of a magazine with good quality paper(about 48 pages) . Volume 1 deals with box and stockcars with some very good pics and a decent car roster with numbers. It deals mostly with 1940-1968 era although there are a few older car shots . Overall it is a worth while part of my collection however it would have been much better in full color ,not always possible but it would be great for matching the paint . It contains a small paragragh on each car (about 3cars every 2 pages) with black and white photos most I have never seen before . The only critisim I have is it mentions what type of trucks the cars ride on only about half the time , with black and white photos it makes it tuff to see sometimes . Overall I would highly reccomend the book however and cannot wait for Vol2 !
I haven't seen it anywhere except Amazon yet and that is where I purchased it from . It was just released about one week ago according to them .
