I purchased a A & B unit (both powered) of the Broadway Limited E6 about 4 weeks ago. They were both running well until tonight when the A unit started shorting out for a few seconds and then died. I have a PX circuit breaker so nothing was damaged. I tried put the unit on the program track and wasn't able to read the address with a NCE pro cab unit. I have one DC line so I tried that briefly and unit immediately started to smoke so I took off the track right away. Anyway, I guess I'll need to send it back. I took the body off and couldn't see anything that looked wrong, but I really don't know what I'm looking for, perhaps the decoder just went bad? I emailed Broadway Limited to see if I need a RMA#. I registered the unit and see that I need the receipt, which I have. However I purchased the units at a train show and the receipt just shows the amount paid, not what I purchased not sure if that will be a problem or not. I emailed the train store to see if I can get a receipt listing what I purchased. Has anyone dealt with Broadway Limited before for repairs? If so what was your experience? Thanks, Todd
I've never had to return anything anything to BLI, but I've found their tech support people to be very helpful and knowledgeable. I'm sure they'll take care of you. Cheers, -Mark
I bought a set of UP E6's from a dealer at a show and had to get a receipt from them before I could send the A unit in…. It would not and did not run from the get go…( told later due to a piece of metal in the truck)…… Other than it taking some time… 3 months I think… I found them very easy and pleasant and got the repair done ….. shipping was my only expense I think… so thumbs up….
I had a burned speaker ,I had the eby receipt and sent it back took over a month. I just got my E6 AB set and it ran as good as my first one except for the speaker.
Thanks for the information everyone. I've contacted BLI and I am waiting for a RA#. I'll post back with my results either way.
