Interesting little operation... BB 6 & 3 work the yard in Staunton, Va. These next shots are of the BB leaf Rambler.
They are nice pictures. What river is it crossing? Pretty good group of water there! Look like GP7s to me. One looks like a railfan excursion. The first pictures look like an operating railroad. Website for Buckingham Branch? Thanks.
yeah BB is a cool line. GP7's GP16's, GP40's ect. First shot is my only shot of them doing work besides switching the excurtion train around. Old Dominon Chapter owns the 101, and she is currently being repainted into a fresh coat of RF&P.
Hank, Thanks for the link to the information. I doubt #1 was Seaboard 8851; looks like it might have been 1851. I like the new, flush style classification lights on the hoods. Harold
I'm pretty sure it is the 8851. My dad has shots (that I will post later) of it when she first arrived at the BB.
Nope,,, that would put it in the class with SD40-2's inherited from Conrail..... Originally the SBD GP16's were numbered in the 4600 + series (to 48xx) and renumbered into the 1600 + series before they were retired. Harold
About two weeks ago, a friend spotted a BB (AAR) steel scrap gondola in my state. It took a few minutes to remember what BB represented. We still have no clue what it was doing here. The waybill put it in the middle of nowhere! mg: Boxcab E50
