I'm sick and tired of Sicken Tire...giggles, yes it is obvious but fun. This kit is a prefab from Woodland Scenics. It's only available in HO...sorry N guys. Well anyway, I hope some N guys will have a look anyway. The building is in two sections that fit together easily... but first painting is in order. The building is a reddish brown. More brown then red, however. I thought it was a good color for the windows but not for this building. Too prosaic. First I took some card stock and cut window blinds to keep my paint away. The picture here shows the card stock in each of the window on this side. I didn't need a lot of these because I painted only one side at a time. It's the only way this methode will work. After one side was dry I popped out the blinds and put them in the next side.
color I painted the building Krylon's Camouflage. The color in the picture is close to the real thing. I like this color!!!! Or colour, if you will. You can see how well the window blinds worked
Candy looks like your off to a great start once again. Those new DPM kits are fun I built the Bank they put out and I had a blast. Keep the progress shots coming you've got my attention once again
I see you're up to your usual artistic endeavors. As mentioned, you're off to a good start again. Keep us posted, please!
Here is the other section before attachment. You see that the windows are different so I will have to make new card stock blinds for the windows and also for the doors. I've painted the roof already. I will work on this part tonight and show you how it looks tomorrow
Well the office section is painted and attached. The two sections fit together perfectly. Just a dap of glue on the inside of the tabs and it's done. Paint came out good except for a little bit of paint that got on the bottom of the door. I scraped most of it off but there is still a tiny bit left. I have some ideas to fix it quickly.
I saw this model as a pre-bult option, nice building. I am thinking about getting the pre-built one simply becuase 1. I am kind of lazy. 2. Looked good. 3. currently I really do not have any workbench space as I have remodling projects going on all over the house. (been using my computer / work desk as a workbench. Thanks for sharing and I am looking forward to more progress photos.
The built ones are really nice ! I'm going to try and do as well. Tonight I'm putting on some building details. Pictures tomorrow
Sure looks great in those colors. I really like the architecture style of this building. It could fit many time periods, right up to this day. Not available in N scale? Argh. Boxcab E50
I did the loading platform and added a few details. This building has lots of details!!! I washed the bricks with a bit of A&I and it really made a difference. I might do another wash later on. I also weathered the pipes in back with a bit of rust.
Well I've been doing more detail parts and a bit of weathering. This kit is very easy and it's an attention grabber. I can see in my mind what it will look like on my dio. I'm thinking way ahead.
Candy ... it's good to see you active again. I greatly appreciate your modeling skills. Keep up the good work gal!
