I've just finished building an industrial unit for my layout project. I tried drybrushing the brickwork after having first sprayed on the mortar.

I just can't seem to get the hang of doing the raised detail first and then filling the gaps afterwards no matter how much I practice the various techiques that I've had recommended to me. I've tried it the way I have as it's the only way I seem to be able to achieve anything half decent! [IMG]

I've put a pic up on my website to let me know what you think and be gentle - it is only the second model I've made in a while!

The pic can be found at:-

    Hi Pete.

Oops, forgot that I'd already sarted a thread on this. [IMG]

Yeah, can you add it on to the thread that's been started on this.

I'll learn to read before posting next time! [IMG]

One problem might be with the photography. I think you are using a flash which will make the mortar look like chalk used in school on a blackboard.

I used a very thin wash of concrete or aged concrete colored paint to fill in the mortar, constantly wiping it off the surface of the brick with a sponge.

    Shaun,

No sweat! Unfortunately, I think there's no way to concatentate one thread to another, now that my great friend Fothergill has posted. No, it's actually not that my great enemy Fothergill has posted, it's more a software issue. (If you haven't guessed, Fothergill and I are great friends who have fun here on the Forum!)

I think it's best for me to lock this thread and copy the posts to the other thread.
