Roger, I did not know that Pennsy routed through Anderson. Please tell us more about the Norton brewery (coming from a beer fan).

As an NYC lover, I hate to say this...the Pennsy K-Class is a lovely locomotive. OK, not at the same level as the Hudson or Niagara, but a great looking design.

The Pennsy ran through Anderson from 1853 to Penn Central and was shut down by Conrail. It ran Cinncy to Chicago through Anderson. In the 50s. I used to listen (and look) at the Pennsy line across the field and see the dim lights of the passenger cars. 2 o'clock one way and 4 o'clock the other way. Don't ask what I was doing up at that time.

The Norton Brewery ran from about 1890 to Prohibition, then closed until Prohibition was repealed. Then it was producing beer again but never regained full sales. It was closed by 1950.
