ATSF Cajon tunnels

Went to Calon pass yesterday. One tunnel almost gone the other is still there.

Here is the other tunnel still intact.

 

Isn't that odd how back in the day it was a better option for the RR's to tunnel rather than move all that dirt and now it's the opposite.
