I am relatively new to the concept of kitbashing or scratchbuilding, as i havent had much experiance. However, I'd like to try kitbashing a passenger car from the exposition flyer or california zephyr in o scale. If anyone can point me in the right direction ifa cheap starting point it'd be greatly appriciated. Thanks!
You didn't say if you were doing 3 rail or 2 rail. If you are doing 3 rail, MTH has some cars that would work as well as F3's for power. I don't recall any WP steam 4-8-2's in O scale or 3 rail but K-Line did do a 2-8-2 a few yrs back that could work. K-Line made some scale sized Pullman heavy weight cars that can work on either 2 or 3 rail. Lionel has scale sized F3's and classic F3's as well as 15" streamlined cars. If you want expensive, Key is supposed to have brass Zephyr cars and Atlas is doing the California Zephyr in plastic which is fantastic looking but they are priced accordingly, i.e. expensive brass and high end plastic prices.
