Here's a recent picture I took of my favorite building on my layout. Something went wrong with the exposure, but...we can always make some good out of a mistake. Looks like a serious summer thunderstorm brewing in Augsburg. Shamless plug coming: This picture and others can be viewed on my web page, which I just updated with more pictures. Hi, I hope you don't mind but I liked the photo so much I added my own background to it. Hope you like it.
All I can say is WOW!!!!! You took a fair looking picture and made it fantastic. Thanks! What photo editing software did you use? Jeff
Wow! That's cool and double cool! Looks like that Severe Thunderstorm Watch turned into a Warning. Charlie [ 07 April 2002, 22:35: Message edited by: E-8 ]
That picture looks like theirs going to be more then just thunder storm warnings in effect... Wheres the wind with all the action???? You know that the wind almost always acompanies a bad thunder storm, which could lead into the BIG "T" word... "Tornado" Nice work!!!!!! Some real imaginations out their... Keep you the good work!
Last time I say a sky that nasty, I was caught in a bad hailstorm (softball-sized hail, 70MPH winds). I'm heading for the house- later! (can't tell I'm a Midwesterner, can ya? )
I think that the next pic should have a tornado in the background and little N-scale cows flying around! Very nice pics! <img src=http://www.trainboard.com/sigbreak.gif> Russ
Hi RevnJeff, I used Paintshop Pro to alter the background, took around 1/2 hours to erase the old sky first, then imported another sky. On my website is an article on how these sort of photo's can be done. Here's the link to it. Go to the photography article and the last page of the article.
Great stuff everyone. Now how could we change backgrounds as easily on our layouts. One day sunny then the next stormy or how about a sunset.
USe a bluescreen background, and then you can edit in anything you want. Blue is a neutral color, and disappears with layering. I dn;t know hte exact project, something I almost learned in high school That much lightning, and no wind....can only mean we're in for a REALLY BAD STORM! As in I think you might want to go into the storm shelter you have converted into a train room! besides, Everything in that picture IS moving....you just caught the picture at the moment everything has leveled up a little in a gust.
Paul, I have a question for you, could you email me with your email address? I'd like to use your modification of my picture on your web site. But before doing so, I would prefer your permission. Hi Jeff, You can use it with pleasure, it's your photo, I only played around with it. If you want me to do any more for you, let me know. Cheers Paul
