    Good Day Barbara! I hope you are recovering nicely, to awnser your question I am sure what you have here is a general electric 70 ton end cab switcher fron the early sixties I use to see them now and then around Des Moines back then! Stay warm, Rich Watson :D

    Eh-Yup, I agree that it's a GE 70-Tonner.

    Interesting note about the baby GE locos. GE built their 44-Ton for industries who did their own switching and for small non-union railroads. Long ago, the ICC had set a lower limit of 45 Tons for locomotives that required union engineers, therefore, GE built the 44-Ton switcher .... !
