    Greetings all [IMG]

This may be a really stupid question, so please bear with me [IMG]

I am new to Canada and trying to do some prototypical modelling and have been trying to get my head around the signalling by reading up on the CROR rules and regulations.

On my layout, I have a switch which provides for a diverging route between the main line and another operating line, not a signalled siding, but a secondary route and at limited speed over the diverging route of the switch, and I am using twin head signals as on the CNR lakeshore route.

My first thoughts were that the two headed searchlight signal protecting this should be two lights on the same side of the signal post showing either Green over Red for the main, and Red over Green for the secondary... but my reading of CROR suggests it should in fact be Green over Red for the main and Green over flashing Yellow for the secondary line at restricted speed?

Is this correct, or was this arrangement only used on sidings, or for advance warning of future signals?

The CROR rules have me a little confused, because there doesn't seem to be anything in them for signalling of diverging routes.

    Regards

    Graham,
this reminds me of a bloke over here that built a beautiful n scale N&S layout of no specific prototypical track plan but N&S theme all the same.He wanted a prototypical signaling system in place to suit his track plan, what he did was e-mailed N&S signaling dept. in the states, sent them his track plan & the kind folks there came up with a signal plan that they would have used for that specific track plan!
So all I can suggest is try CN direct, you never know.........
