Mid July 1991 and it's still darn cold wandering through the waist high grass in the rain. We left the hotel, up on the hill, and waited to board our ship for the trip up to Newfoundland and Labrador as 3585 worked containers next door. A steep grade had this single unit working very hard with just a few cars in tow. I dried out in September 1994. Cheers
Weird! I must have deleted the attached... Well, it's not a great photo anyway. You know what would be real good. A "preview" button so we could see the post before it's posted. Cheers again Dave
That unit looks familiar. Very Familiar... 3585 is a Bombardier HR412 (king size skidoo maybe?) Was sold to Railink as their 3585, I had the opportunity to run the unit along with 3582 in North Bay (ya dont want to know my opinion of those units, let alone the guy in charge of keeping em running ) Jon
That picture was taken at the ferry terminal in North Sydney so I expect it's CBNS now. When we came out in Aug '94 we stopped to watch three nice Alcos in CBNS colours working their way throuth Port Hawkesbury to the mainland. Very nice It was the first "live" train I'd seen in three years so these ol' smoke generators retain a special place. Dave
