If anyone has been keeping track of the car vs train wrecks since the first part of November in Wise county, Texas. Both BN and UP have been almost hitting cars and propane trucks and 18 wheelers once a week up there in Newark and other little towns. See a trend up there? Very UNwise truck drivers up there.
I do not have any statistics to back up my answer but I do believe that grade crossing accidents are up all over the country. I do believe that civilization as a whole is getting dumber. Do not believe me? Come here to good old New York City and see for yourself just how many people wait for a light to turn red to cross the street in front of oncoming traffic. BTW- Operation lifesaver had cut the number of grade crossing accidents almost in half at one point. I think that the program needs to be expanded. Russ Hoffman
