    Thanks, I guess I'll start doing some research on it. Like what roads used them, what did the cars look like. etc.

    I know the NYC still ran cattle cars from Chicago to both Rochester, NY and Philly, Pa in the very late 60's and the CPR still used them in the 70's. Hope this is of some help.

    I know UP ran "pig trains"(the kind that go oink) for Farmer John Co. in Los Angeles into the 80's...have to do some research to get all the details.

    Thinking more about it, I remember while in LA in 1977 a UP local had a cut of stock cars with pigs in 'em, car looked like an Athearn stock car.
