My light mikado can't pull itself up a 2 percent grade in reverse. With this one it looks like the last set of drivers with the traction tires are raised off the rails slightly when in reverse. Two of my heavy mikados run fine in reverse. With the third heavy, the second set of drivers are skipping geer teeth when its in reverse and in a 220 mm curve. The third heavy will need to go back to AZL I think. None of mine derail in reverse. I have about a 50% success rate with these in reverse, and 100% going forward.

A quick update. After a long forward break in period of my troublesome heavy Mikado, around 195 mm curves to push the chassis flex further, she can now run in reverse without mechanical problems. However, her tractive effort In reverse is less than going forward.
