I get bored sometimes. The n scale CF7 has been the project taking most of my time lately doing refinements, fulfilling orders. I was thinking with these model-making talents of ours why not do something fun, like a fantasy locomotive? Re-imagine a CF7 given modern upgrades that will keep it in useful service for a few more decades. I want to call it the "Super 42" to designate its 4200 HP rating - a far cry from it's humble origins as a simple F unit. You can see the locomotive's history from the F unit tanks and trucks, the GP long hood, angled cab, and modern elements with updated radiator section, exhaust, improved cab windows and ptc antenna array. Of course, under the hood is an all new, highly efficient power plant cranking out way more power than a half-pint loco should ever have! :ROFLMAO:

A work in progress, the CF7 "Super 42"!

Wow, that is beautiful and very innovative. Don't know if I'd send it out to work where it would get all dirty ;)

Very cool! I like how you melded the high-tech of tody with the classic style of yesteryear.

The modern radiator kind of balances the blocky cab of the later model CF7s.
