All my rerailers disappeared to wherever my 2 yr old hides things, so I ordered two more Kato. When they arrive, I’m going to cut the tip of one down and cantilever it off the back of the other to make one long enough to handle my ac12 and tender.
Used to drive a former club member crazy! He had to use a rerailer, while I could literally set a car down, and it would be on the track! Could do a 50 car train, before he was maybe 1/4-1/3 done putting his on. Have a couple Kato, a De Luxe Innovations, that came with the Roadrailers. And at least 1 more. Since adding a number of large, articulated steam to my roster, or the GG-1, a rerailer is definitely needed! Pretty sure as my eyesights goes south, as I get older, a rerailer will be required!
Maybe! Along with Monty Python music so the hand of God would come down to put it on the track? My goal was to not use any plastic outside of what came in the packages, so the trimmed sides became reinforcements underneath, the cut off tip a brace, and the bottom of the unijoiner tool (which also has the rail notches in it) the rear stand. This way it still locks down into the track like the original does, and is reproducible by anyone. For $5-6 total investment in the two Kato (Amazon prime after shipping) I think it was very worthwhile!
