Pretend there are no CSX logos on these engines. Everthing else being equal, would you ship Company A or Company B? Company A Company B Ed
They are both from GE, don't hold your breath... On a non-related note, 5115 was on a westbound NS train on the Chicago Line in Wauseon, Ohio on Saturday. Small world, eh?
As a customer I would need more information, such as pricing, shiper reliablity info along with other critical information. sorry but nice paint schemes dont get my load from point A to point B any faster.
All three of the locomotives above are CSX AC44CW's. The 5115 is in the new numbering scheme, as well as the new paint. She is also different than the other two, in that she is one of the new "heavy" GE4400's, that have had weight added for extra traction in heavy haul service. I don't like the solid blue scheme on the large diesels, such as the AC44CW's, but I"ve seen some of the smaller locos, such as GP 40-2's and GP 38's that look good in the solid blue. I guess being an old B&O fan, I liked the grey and blue together. Ed
Ed, Have you seen any of the switchers in the new scheme (MP15AC's)? They look pretty good too Harold
The "new" paint scheme requires one less color, and is much easier to apply, no angled masking is needed on the sides of the unit. IMO, the new scheme looks good on the smaller units, but the larger locos don't look well with the solid blue. It is, as always, the bottom line, they save dollars. There has been a lot of stuff said about UP and them protecting their copyrights, but they did put those wings back on the front of their locos, and they do have a steam program. Ed
