I'm in the process of building a sorta prototype layout and I have Sanborn maps for the railway BUT still do not have a clue as to what type of commodities were shipped. My railroad existed from 1924-1942 ,so is there any place to research this type of material? Oh yeah...this is a shortline not a major rail server. Thanks, Step
Step, Try The Handbook of Texas Online. You can look up the entries for the Cisco & Northeastern and all the towns along the route. It won't tell you exactly what industries were in these towns, but it will give you a general idea of the major types of industries that were there. Dwight
