Hi all, I am new to the board. I am wondering if anyone would be interested in Con-cor auto rack panels in styrene that would be of prototypical(as close as possible)thickness with see-through holes. If interest is very high, I will seriously consider producing them if the cost factors are favorable. I do know of someone locally where I live that could do them. Thank you for the input. Rod v. B.

    Hello Rod, and welcome.

I think what you are planning may be of limited appeal. I'm not saying there won't be any interest, though.
JnJ make stainless etched replacement panels but they are expensive as one would expect. If you come in at a pricepoint somewhat lower then you may grab some of those planning this conversion and possibly swing a few sitting on the fence.
Another possibility is to provide replacement ends to convert the bi-level Con-Cor car to a tri-level (N Scale of Nevada produced these in the past). Combine the kits for a complete upgrade kit.

All in all, I'd grab a set or 2 to see how they look.

    Gary.

rgn1, does the someone you know locally have an injection molding machine? Does he have a tool room to make mold cavities to design? If he is interested, ask him to e-mail me. Thanks.

    Hey rgn1:

Do you get up around the Springs much? If you do, there's a club up here you might want to stop by and check out. I know if you're looking at making new stuff you'll find lots of folks at least willing to give an opinion. Check www.ppng.org (sorry, I don't know how to do the fancy links, being an analog kind of guy) (oops, the board did the fancy link and made a liar out of me)or e-mail me and I'll let you know some more.
