Congratulations to Fitz, who got himself a neat little article at Railway Preservation News on DLMX 4219, 4449's auxilary tender, which was given the name "Let's Roll" and toured the US this year. Check it out here. It's the latest post, dated 12/02/02 at the top of the page. Way to go, Jim!
Thanks Alexander. That happened so fast I didn't even think about you and your 'zine. Dave Brown encouraged me to write it, so I did, and was surprised that they published it right away. I would feel a bit of traitor to Trainboard, too, but it's an article about real stuff and the theme here has become heavily toward modelling. Nothing wrong with that at all. I encourage all of you. Heck, after reading all the neat stuff and seeing all the photos of your layouts, I'm tempted to get back into that financial black hole myself. Keep up the good work, and most of all keep helping each other as you have been.
Nice work Jim!!!! Glad to see your talent comming out in words and as always the talent itself, the pictures etc.... Good article!
Hey Jim, no problem! It's not all or nothing. I enjoyed browsing the article, now I'll have to go back and actually read it in detail now the day's over. BTW I stuck a link to it in Extra Section, the PNW Rail Blog at the site. Of course I don't know how many people are reading that yet!
Way to Go Jim! I sure wish I could travel with you on one of those trips and also see Doyle in person again.
You know, Jim, it just occured to me, that if a model of "Let's Roll" could be put together, it might make a cool fundraiser for ORHF. Doesn't Rivarossi or Bachman make an auxilary tender that would be a close stand-in?
