Conrail boxcars repatched CSX

Hello,
I am new to the trainboard and just finding my way around so please excuse me if this an obvious question or not the right forum catgory. I'm looking for pics of Conrail cars that have been repatched for CSX, or did CSX just repaint them?, anyone know where I can find these.

I know that the Conrail reporting mark still exists. It could be that they were just left as Conrail cars on the CSX roster. Sounds like a CSX historical society question.

You could check some of the freight car websites.

As noted on that picture, CSX-patched CR equipment generally has NYC reporting marks.

 

Ah, I didn't notice that. I have seen the NYC reporting marks on many different type CSX cars.

 

Yep, where else but the 21st century can you find cars painted for EL and RDG with NYC reporting marks.

 

I believe both locos & rolling stock transferred to both CSX & NS subject to Trust Agreements. So if a loco was NYC it transferred to CSX by agreement. Likewise NS got the PRR units. So the unit in the photo was CR but probably had its origin under a NYC purchase agreement. NYC (still and operating entity) probably sold the unit to CSX.
