Good question about the GP7/9's. I know they inherited a bunch, but don't really remember what happened to them. I think they also rebuilt some, but I really don't know.

Maybe someone can help us out? [IMG]

I know a little about the CR GP30's (one of my favorite models [IMG] ). CR inherited units from Reading and PC; the PC units came from NYC and PRR orders. Seems like units were purged from the roster around the early 90's. I don't know if they were scrapped or sold.

Here's what I found out about the GP7/9's:

Conrail actually had GP7/8/9/10's! [IMG] (The GP8/10's were actually rebuilds of the 9's... are you still with me [IMG] ?) According to an old diesel roster book, CR had 174+ GP7's, 50+ GP8's, 224+ GP9's, and 75 GP10's.
The GP8's were rebuilt by either ICG, RI, or MK. The GP8's from the ICG rebuild program had the ox-yoke air filters and chopped noses (similar to the prototypes for the CSX GP16's, see pictures in the CSX forum). All were off the roster by 1992. The GP9's disappeared in the late 80's early 90's. The GP10's were rebuilt by ICG, PNC, and M-K. These units disappeared from the roster between '95-'97.

    That's what I found out
